The cleaning and restoration process
1. Evaluation
The evaluation component for log homes and wood siding is very important. Many variables affect what kind of treatment is advisable. Our staff will discuss our recommendations in detail with you.
2. Gentle power wash
Power washing gently cleans surfaces and prepares the wood for staining. The area surrounding your home will be carefully protected to ensure no damage occurs to landscaping or other structures.
3. Rechinking logs
Chinking acts as the “cement” between logs. Over time that bond becomes brittle and recedes, allowing air and moisture to penetrate. Careful inspection will determine if re-chinking is required.
4. Re-caulking around windows
Windows may require re-caulking to keep seals efficient. Thorough analysis will indicate if this step is necessary.
5. Repair damage from carpenter bees, woodpeckers, rot, decay, etc.
The natural beauty of wood does harbor its unique problems. We can resolve many issues your log home or wood siding presents.
